Demetra and Masmec Biomed advance their surgical navigation and robotics collaboration ahead of EUROSPINE 2026

Following the strategic collaboration announced in July, the two companies confirm a shared roadmap and will jointly showcase navigation and robotic technologies for spine surgery in Gothenburg

[Milan, 4 September 2026] Demetra and Masmec Biomed confirm the progress of the strategic collaboration announced in July 2026, focused on surgical navigation, artificial intelligence, and robotics. The update comes ahead of EUROSPINE 2026, taking place in Gothenburg from 7 to 9 October, where the two companies will present their joint offering to the international spine surgery community.

From strategic agreement to shared technical roadmap

Since the announcement in July, Demetra and Masmec Biomed have moved from a shared strategic vision to concrete technical alignment across the distributor network. On 6 August, the two companies held a dedicated online session to provide the Demetra distributor network with an in-depth overview of Masmec Biomed’s navigation and robotic technologies. The session outlined the clinical value and workflow efficiency of Masmec Biomed’s platforms across spine and neuro applications, reinforcing the complementary competencies at the core of the partnership: Demetra’s clinical leadership and international distribution network, combined with Masmec Biomed’s engineering and AI expertise in surgical navigation.

A joint presence at EUROSPINE 2026

Demetra will attend EUROSPINE 2026 in Gothenburg to present its expanding spine portfolio to partners, clinicians, and the wider spine community. As part of this presence, Demetra will host a dedicated Distributor Event on 7 October at 5:30 PM, introducing the latest additions to its spine portfolio from both a commercial and clinical perspective.
The event programme will include MaxxSpine’s spinal fusion implant solutions and, for the first time on this stage, Masmec Biomed’s navigation and robotic technologies for spine surgery: Orion, an all-in-one navigation platform, and Pyxis, a robotic surgical platform designed to support precision and procedure standardization in spinal procedures.
